PURPOSE

As a member of the design team, the Visual Designer role will be responsible for the successfully executing visual design across a variety of asset types including social media materials, print marketing, and other graphic design needs. There are also opportunities to support our UI design efforts for the core platform.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY

• Bring energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and a disciplined work ethic to the design team
• Generate design ideas, conduct research, document design workflows, and contribute to all manner of graphic and visual production
• Apply a strong conceptual design ability to projects of varying complexity
• Extend the Avenue 8 design system across print and digital materials
• Create process efficiencies to reduce overall production timelines
• Manage time and workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments with regular interaction and direction from project leaders and team members.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT

• Attention to detail
• Problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills; able to explain designs and the reasoning behind them
• Receptive to taking design cues and direction and extrapolate them across medium
• Creative and imaginative

QUALIFICATION

• 1-3 years experience working in Visual Designer, Graphic Designer or similar role
• Strong portfolio of design projects
• Proficient in Adobe CC (Specifically XD, Photoshop and Illustrator)
• Proficient in Canva
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of HTML/CSS; basic understanding of coding
• Nice-to-have: Any illustration, animation, or other visual design skills
