Creative Design Manager

ROLE OVERVIEW Are you ready to lead all aspects of visual design for a fast-growing company (including web, advertising, and collateral), play a meaningful role in collaborative campaign planning, and manage skilled but more junior designers? Our new head of visual design will be. This person will develop a keen eye for what makes something “look like Global Rescue” based on the existing style guide and many current examples. The new head of visual design will iteratively evolve the company’s look and feel to meet our changing world and industry. They will have a high degree of comfort with collaboratively building out campaigns with our marketing team. This role is part of a close-knit 15-person marketing team that spans Pakistan, Puerto Rico and Lebanon, NH.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead Global Rescue’s creative vision.

  • Update and maintain brand building blocks, such as brand guide, design system, templates and icon system to ensure they remain up-to date and accessible.

  • Advocate for brand consistency across Global Rescue.

  • Source imagery, catalog and maintain digital assets.

  • Create engaging and creative graphics including presentations, digital advertisements, social media graphics, email design, printed assets (brochures, rack cards, event advertising, etc.) and environmental graphics (trade-show booth, signage, marketing suites).

  • Lead web page and user experience design across our website, portfolio of landing pages and email templates.

  • Actively participate in roundtable-style planning sessions with other key members of the marketing team to collaboratively develop campaigns and decide upon the direction we take with a wide variety of projects whether there is a heavy visual design element to the project or not.

  • Manage one direct report (currently) based in Pakistan in addition to freelancers for overflow work.

  • Provide clear and concise strategic design feedback internally and externally on both projects leading as well as design guidance on shared internal initiatives with the broader design team

  • Bring a broad range of experience and expertise to new and ongoing endeavors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in graphic design, environmental graphic design, communications design (in house or agency)

  • Demonstrable graphic design skills, with a portfolio showing your creativity, knowledge of UX and attention to detail.

  • Strong knowledge of design hierarchy, layout design and typography for corporate design collateral.

  • Strong photo editing skills

  • Expert-level use of Adobe Creative Cloud suite of design resources.

  • Comfort with the basics of WordPress or similar web development platform to design work that our web development team can help implement.

  • Ability to work efficiently, manage multiple projects, and contribute to team efforts while delivering on individual responsibilities.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • BA or BFA in Graphic Design preferred
