Product Designer (Contractor)
The Gnar Company is a fast-growing software consulting company seeking a Contract Product Designer to work with our Director of Design on a contract-to-hire basis. You'll be responsible for creating outstanding user experiences for our clients' gnarly software problems. You will work alongside cross-functional teams, which include engineers, product managers, and other designers, to produce designs that meet business objectives and are user-centered.
Work Schedule: Full-Time hours available
Hourly Rate: $60 - $80/per hours depending on experience
Responsibilities:
Develop wireframes, prototypes, personas, and user journeys.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and the director of design to develop design solutions and concepts that cater to user needs and achieve business objectives.
Design and deliver high-quality user interface designs that communicate effectively user interaction and design specifications.
Develop and maintain design standards and guidelines, ensuring consistency across all platforms and products.
Conduct user research, usability testing, and analysis to inform design decisions and optimize user experiences.
Stay up-to-date with emerging design trends, tools, and technologies
Help plan and conduct client discovery sessions
Communicate and present design solutions to the client
Requirements
5+ years of design experience (Experience working on complex applications are a plus)
Strong people skills, especially collaborating with clients
Deep understanding of UX principles
Comfortable working in a wide range of industries, clients, and project sizes
Experience collaborating with a team, especially in a remote office environment
Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and determine a plan that will ensure they are met or exceeded
General design curiosity and a passion for making great things
Experience with figma and prototyping
Basic understanding of modern web technologies, browsers, frameworks, and devices
General understanding of modern productivity tools (Slack, email, Google Docs, etc)
Excellent visual design skills
An online portfolio
