UX Designer

The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is looking for a User Experience Designer to join the team.

 

Job Summary

The User Experience Designer serves in a key role where design, customer behavior and software development meet. The role serves as the caretaker for the navigational structure and user flows supporting the IAPP’s digital experiences and internal user interfaces. This also includes building and conducting user research and tests to improve and optimize those experiences.

This is a tremendous growth opportunity for a UX professional with just 3 years experience to be involved in a series of top initiatives overhauling the IAPP web experiences and building out a framework for ongoing user research and testing for the organization.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Create user flows, wireframes and prototypes that meet users’ needs, business requirements, and UX best practices for iapp.org, other digital touchpoints (app, email) and internal software interfaces.

  • Translate audience and business needs into site structure and content architecture recommendations.

  • Build out and execute upon a framework for ongoing user research and testing within the IAPP.

  • Leverage data, testing, competitive and comparative experiences and customer insights to constantly iterate on the products.

  • Create assessments of existing interfaces relating to experience, usability and accessibility.

  • Stay on the pulse of UX best practices and industry trends.

  • Play an active role in Agile teams working collaboratively to refine and release software products or releases thereof.

  • Support the user experience optimization of all existing digital properties and member tools, mobile, email and other new technology, using business analytics and partnering with other teams.

  • Maintain an updated web component library and UX portions of the IAPP’s style guide.

  • Be an advocate for customer centric experiences.

  • Additional duties as assigned

 

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least three years of experience in UX engineering or design; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proven experience using prototyping tool(s) (ie: Figma, InVision, Adobe XD, etc.) to build user flows and wireframes.

  • Strong knowledge of current web and email design standards (ie. usability, screen sizes), technologies, frameworks and trends.

  • An interest in consumer behavior and building the experiences that solve their needs.

  • Strong familiarity with design systems, style guides and pattern libraries.

  • Understanding of Agile principles; experience working within an Agile product team, a plus.

  • Understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (a bonus if you can code your own work).

  • Experience with A/B testing and other forms of user research such as card sorting, tree testing, etc. preferred.

  • UI design experience and skill set, as well as an eye for quality design preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Work Environment

We have a hybrid work environment and are asking applicants to be within a commutable distance to our Portsmouth, NH office.
