Product Design Manager
Our client, a Fortune 250 telecommunications company, is looking for a Product Design Manager to join an innovative, growing product team. This role requires management experience and in-depth knowledge of what makes design teams successful. As a player and coach, you’ll blend your management skills and design expertise and own product design for a core product area of the customer journey.
Day-to-Day
Support 1-2 product designers' through their professional growth and development
Guide execution of design across the product development life-cycle of your product
Give and solicit feedback from a community of designers to continually raise the bar of quality
Uphold design standards, principles, and usability heuristics.
Ensure research efforts are both efficient, and meaningful, and support strategic and tactical initiatives.
Well-versed in design methodology and able to guide designers through efficient execution of design work
Align research insights with design strategy, design execution, and business objectives.
Understand, apply, and communicate the importance of design principles, usability heuristics, and design systems in making design decisions.
Experience
Bachelor’s or Masters's degree in HCI, UX or Product Design
UX certification and relevant work experience is also acceptable
At least 6 years of experience as an IC product designer or UX designer
3 years of experience managing designers
Real-world experience applying principles of agile, Design Thinking, and User-Centered Design methods to the complete product development life-cycle.
