Graphic Designer

JOB SUMMARY

The Graphic Designer will work in partnership with the Marketing Director to design or create a variety of graphics in support of brand, promotional, display and digital materials to be used by Community Bible Church and its ministries.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Meet with client/church ministries to determine goals, strategy, and problem-solving through design
Develop concepts, design, and produce design concepts based on layout principles and esthetic design concepts
Analyze the purpose, strategy, and approach to the ministry initiatives
Prepare concepts for approval by Marketing Director
Suggest production methods, materials needed, and costs
Produce all supporting elements upon approval of concept i.e., web graphic, slides for venues, bulletin, posters, mailers, large format displays, etc.
Make readily available a current portfolio with a variety of creative solutions and designs
Additional duties assigned as needed

Must possess intermediate computer skills using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Social Media platforms, content scheduling platforms
Demonstrates hands-on skills in the latest Adobe Creative Suite
Proficient in the following platforms, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Office Platforms, and Publisher
Completed projects by coordinating with internal and external agencies, art services, printers, etc.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of operation are generally scheduled Monday - Thursday.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:

Must have good or corrected vision as well as effective peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use repetitive motion of the hands and arms
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to several hours at one time
Must be able to move about inside the office to perform administrative tasks
Must be able to constantly operate a computer and/or other office equipment such as a calculator, copy machine, or printer
Must be able to frequently and effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds and/or push/pull objects up to 50 pounds
Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design/Desktop Publishing
Minimum 2+ years graphic design experience
Web experience in HTML, motion graphics, and CSS (preferred)
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), MS Office, and Publisher
Experience creating graphics for the purpose of digital marketing

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties are performed in an office setting where the work and general environment may be fast-paced and hectic at times. Therefore, it is essential that the employee is able to effectively handle the normal anxieties associated with the job and manage multiple projects in an innovative environment. Environmental noise levels are minimal. Periodic travel to various locations may be required.
