Product Designer

Who are we?

MANTL is an early-stage, fast-growing, venture-backed company focused on providing modern technology to the  complex yet neglected space of retail banking. We work on a range of projects in several areas: white-labeled online account opening, analytics and tooling for customer interaction, optimized internal banking operations, and lots more.

Since launching our first product in August 2017, we’ve raised $3M in funding and grown our team from 5 people to over 20 (and we’re hiring several more). We are looking for multiple product designers to help us scale to a mature, design- and user-focused enterprise SaaS company.

What 2019 looks like for us

Over most of the next year, our highest priorities are to build two new bank-facing products within our platform. Both pertain to providing tools for banks to better onboard new customers. This is a challenge, because building tech for banking is inherently complex, and it’s especially imperative to be mindful of the ecology within our system (i.e.; design decisions in one area can have major effects elsewhere). This means research and conversations with customers and experts, testing, prototyping and iteration needs to be frequent, thorough, and efficient. The beauty of it all, is that Design holds a very valuable place at MANTL (Sidebar: The team will be making a huge push on the marketing site next year too to come out from semi-stealth mode).

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be part of a core team who will do all the research, design, and implementation for these two products, as well as contribute improved UX to our existing product suite. In addition to that, you’ll be working with and contributing to a design system, and will help decide what our products and services look and behave like as that system grows and evolves. You’ll be working alongside virtually all the stakeholders (remember, we’re still just over 20 people) and have frequent interactions with customers.

You’ll play a key role in the overall product strategy and its tactical implementation. We’re looking for people who have great experience to share. In return, you’ll learn a ton about the unique challenges we have in the FinTech and banking industries and work alongside an incredibly talented team of designers and developers.
