Designer/Animator-Junior to Mid Level

Perception is looking to add a talented, passionate and driven designer/animator to our team in NYC. The position is available ASAP and only to candidates willing to work on-site in NYC. An artist in this position will be expected to contribute conceptually, creatively and technically to projects for major film studios and the biggest names in technology, while working alongside highly experienced artists within a terrific learning environment.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Killer animation skills and design/styleframes. Conceptualizing new projects through innovative style frame and storyboard designs. Execute 2D and 3D animated se- quences from existing story boards and compositing full scenes. Maintain and exceed Perception’s design philosophies.Knowledge of standard industry tools (Creative Cloud + Cinema 4D). An ability and willingness to learn new platforms and technologies (GPU Rendering etc). Seek out and learn new and more ef cient techniques constantly to help improve work ow and design productivity.
  • Use design thinking to solve complex creative challenges that require clever and thoughtful approaches. Always strive to push yourself to try new creative solutions and achieve higher levels of design excellence..
  • Build pitch documents and presentations
  • Develop and write clear and thought out treatments for pitches and awarded proj- ects.
  • Demonstrate high level UX and UI capabilities in areas of design, principals and strat- egy for the wide range of technology and lm clients Perception works with.
  • Maintain a passion for the cross-section of lms & technology (FUI, Title Sequences, AR, VR etc) and Science Fiction Thinking. Always in pursuit of best practices for User Interface design, User Experience Strategies, and Design Problem Solving.
  • Maintain and enforce Perception’s highest standards of security and quality control across all projects.
  • Identifying talented resources to expand freelance and staff. Help b uild the team at Perception.
  • Be a thinker and contributor for Perception’s clients and their businesses. Constantly thinking of other ways Perception can help them succeed--in ways that aren’t spelled out in a creative brief. Thinking outside the box and putting yourself in the clients shoes to uncover hidden opportunities for Perception.
  • Share ideas and insights on potential directions and creative opportunities for the Company.
  • Be a team player, contributing and being a valuable member of the design group at Perception. Actively participating in presentations, brainstorming sessions, writing treatments, and offering constructive criticism to your peers in order to consistently raise the bar of creative excellence.
  • Execute any requests from upper management (CCD, COO and founders) deemed necessary for Perception.
