UI/UX Designer and Developer

As a UI/UX Designer and Developer at Stream, you’ll be an integral part of the Creative and Marketing teams as well as work closely with IT and our development partner. You’ll bring design-thinking to every project, as you seek to solve problems and further business initiatives in a creative and strategic way. In this role, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of the user experience, including designing beautiful, intuitive, responsive websites and interfaces, designing and developing email templates, creating, managing and utilizing a pattern library, creating wireframes, prototypes, updating web properties and coding HTML and CSS. This is a hybrid role where a typical week would be split with about 70-80% UI/UX and 20-30% front-end development. You’ll be joining an in-house creative/marketing team who love what they do and continually strive to better their craft and further Stream’s business initiatives each day. Core responsibilities for this job include…

  • Contribute to all kinds of digital and web projects including websites, ecommerce-enrollment, portals, apps, branding, promotions, and emails.
  • Clearly communicate with internal clients from other departments and guide them through the design/development process.
  • Present ideas, wireframes, prototypes, user journey flows in meetings with small groups, managers, and C-Levels.
  • Collaborating on end-to-end experiences and scenarios.
  • Contribute to projects managed by other designers and manage your own projects.
  • Follow creative direction and maintain brand standards.
  • Create developer-ready Sketch files, wireframes, prototypes or front-end code.
  • Know and implement best practices and maintain good file organization and pattern libraries.
  • Design and/or code beautiful, user-centric, responsive websites, emails, web pages and mobile user interfaces.
  • Create semantically correct and pixel-perfect web pages, emails, and templates from Sketch and/or InVision prototypes.
  • Develop smooth and responsive experiences for various browsers, operating systems and screen sizes.
  • Integrate HTML templates with applications and content management systems.
  • Work closely with business partners and 3rd party vendors to define, develop and support testing through the web design and development process.
  • Identify and assist with implementing improvements that will minimize development timelines and/or reduce production support issues.
  • Ensure all design and development is constructed using best practices for responsiveness, scalability, fast load times, etc.
  • Other related duties as assigned, like helping to create digital marketing graphics, illustrate icons, and help with brand implementation.

To be successful in this role, you need…

  • 2-5 years of professional UI/UX design experience
  • 2-4 years of professional responsive, front-end development experience
  • BA or BFA or higher in a design or development discipline; alternatively, four years’ additional experience in related field.
  • Expert Proficiency in Sketch or InVision Studio, InVision Prototyping, InVision DSM or similar/related tools.
  • Proficiency with the latest versions of Adobe products, especially Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of the latest in HTML and CSS

Our top candidates will also have…

  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, React, and Angular)
  • Sitecore experience
  • Strong icon or illustration skills
  • Background in graphic design
  • English copywriting experience
  • Experience with tech startups, lifestyle brands, network marketing or retail energy
  • Ability to operate effectively within Apple‘s OS.

Working Conditions

Occasionally you may be asked to work flexible hours (i.e. staff an event, work late to finish a project); overtime and weekends may be required.


This job is a 3 Months Contract-to-Hire position.
