Lead Designer (Product/Interactive)

Design at Underbelly is central to the awesome work we produce with our clients. We’re a multidisciplinary team specializing in user experience, interface design, branding, motion, and illustration. We solve complex problems for some of the world’s leading companies, in addition to helping small businesses get new products and brands off the ground. We’re passionate, cooperative, thoughtful, respectful, and always push ourselves and our craft. At Underbelly we care about people and making their lives better through design.

As Lead Designer, you’ll work closely with our internal design team, clients, developers, and project managers to ship beautiful and useful digital experiences. You’ll be involved with projects start to finish—leading a successful kickoff, defining the problem, and conducting research; exploring design solutions, validating those decisions with users and stakeholders, building a spec, and shipping.

You’ll provide value by being a principle designer on your own client projects and by providing valuable direction to other designers. Throughout the project timeline you’ll guide and mentor the team. You’ll confirm that they have a deep understanding of the problem that needs to be solved and that their potential solutions are relevant, comprehensive, and creative. Additionally, you’ll lead by example by following product development processes, communicating with stakeholders, continually developing your skills and experience, soliciting feedback early and often, and outlining product specifications with the proper assets and deliverables.

All that said, believe it or not, we like to keep a pretty fun, laidback atmosphere. We’re looking for someone who is not only a leader and designer, but a good fit for our close-knit team.
