Better breast cancer screening should be a universal offering to every woman in the world. Vara’s AI-powered software platform, created with screening radiologists in Germany, mitigates much of the human subjectivity associated with reading mammography results—and reduces the repetitive work screening physicians are routinely subjected to—we’re making breast cancer screening more effective, more measurable, and more accessible for everyone, everywhere. By democratising access to early screening around the world, we deliver measurable impact backed by clinical evidence. We are partnering globally, to deliver breast cancer screening where it is needed most.

YOUR ROLE

You develop a deep understanding of our users’ needs and how they interact with our product.
You drive user research initiatives and evaluate qualitative and quantitative user feedback to discover products that users love.
You demonstrate end-to-end ownership of the design process for major product areas that are critical to the success of the business.
You design low-fidelity wireframes and mockups as well as high-fidelity prototypes for new products and features.
You collaborate with developers and provide them with clear specifications of UX and UI elements.
You test final implementations of features and ensure their correct functionality.
You make use of a hands-on approach to finding solutions and accepting ownership of your work results, while challenging the status quo everyday and striving to improve our products and services.
You promote the importance of the user experience, especially for doctors, in all aspects of the business.

YOUR PROFILE

You have gained multiple years of experience in the fields of prototyping, user testing, visual and interaction design, ideally some of gained at an early stage, series A or series B startup.
You bring along an outstanding design portfolio that showcases your strengths in user interface design, user experience and interaction design logic and the reasoning behind your decisions.
You have a high proficiency of modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, Zeplin, etc.
You have a strong ability to present and defend your design decisions towards your team and stakeholders.
You are able to take the initiative to make or facilitate decisions.
Your communication and presentation skills in both spoken and written English are excellent—German skills are a plus.
