Treasury is the Vice Presidency, reporting to the Managing Director and World Bank Group Chief Financial Officer, performing treasury functions for the IBRD and IDA and, to varying degrees, for other members of the World Bank Group and other public sector investors. Its activities are organized and grouped into the following departments: Capital Markets and Investment Management, Client Asset Management and Advisory, and Treasury Operations. The Treasury VPU also includes the Risk, Compliance, and Controls Unit.

Treasury has been a large and significant player in the international financial markets for over seventy years and has achieved a global reputation as a prudent and innovative borrower, investor, and risk manager. Treasury is responsible for: (i) managing approximately $185 billion in assets for the World Bank and other official sector investors; (ii) leading IBRD's and IDA's triple-A rated financing programs in international and domestic bond and derivative markets; (iii) conducting asset and liability management for IBRD's and IDA's balance sheets; (iv) overseeing the development and outreach related to the financing and hedging products the Bank provides for its developing-country clients; and (v) collaborating with the World Bank member countries to help build their capacity. Staff in Treasury regularly interact and work with other Departments across the Bank and Finance Partners teams.

Asset Management and Advisory (TREAA)

TREAA is responsible for managing approximately $70 billion of liquidity and fixed income portfolios for Trust Funds (including Financial Intermediary Funds), MIGA, and about 65 external clients consisting of Central Banks, Pension Funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and other Official Institutions. The department is also responsible for providing investment partnership and advisory functions, capacity building, and training under the umbrella of the Reserve Advisory and Management Partnership (RAMP) Program.

This department is organized in three units: Asset Management (TREAM), Advisory and Partnership (TREAP), and Product, Knowledge, and Research (TREPK).

The Product, Knowledge, and Research (TREPK) unit is responsible for thought leadership, production, and management of knowledge and research products, including presentations for technical advisory consultations, training programs, and applied research papers. TREPK contributes to strengthening advisory capacity and asset management functions by expanding the scope of knowledge and applied research. The unit leads and coordinates the development of new investment products in response to client needs.

Duties and Accountabilities:

The ET Temporary will report to the Learning and Outreach Team Lead and (s)he will be expected to undertake the following roles in addition to contributing to other TREAA and Treasury initiatives as needed. The candidate would be expected to participate in the follow duties:

• Provide desktop publishing and graphic design support to a wide range of training, outreach, research, and business development materials.

• Design, build, and proofread PowerPoint presentations by assessing the length and ensure that style of presentations is consistent. Provide assistance with the selection of appropriate graphics, fonts, and other visual elements.

• Work with authors/speakers to find the optimal visual solution for their messaging and come up with suggestions observing branding guidelines, including determining the most appropriate means of expression for materials as suitable for a particular assignment/product.

• Ensure appropriate organization, transition, readability, and branding conciseness in the marketing materials, of which presentations.

• Uphold the World Bank Treasury brand standards and guidelines, including consistency of graphic elements, fonts, color themes, logos, presentation layouts and carry out quality assurance of the final product for stylistic and other consistencies, of which presence of requisite disclaimers as applicable to each product.

• Produce PowerPoint design templates aligned to brand standards and transform generic, text heavy products into visually appealing and well-organized presentations or marketing materials while translating key business messages into visual elements, including creation of charts and infographics to communicate key content.

• Maintain the supporting templates to ensure brand consistency and standards; build and maintain content libraries for consistent use presentations and marketing materials across units; develop and maintain visual asset catalogue. Coordinate the production process for published and printed products, assists with the publishing process per WBG guidelines.

Selection Criteria

1. High school diploma (Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred) with at least 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in designing marketing materials and building presentations for internal and external audiences.

2. Advanced knowledge of presentation programs such as PowerPoint, Google Slides, Prezi and other.

3. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator with assessment skills for design and aesthetics to create well-thought-out and effective products.

4. Strong communication skills in English (verbal as well as written).

5. Accuracy and attention to detail.

6. Ability to meet tight deadlines, juggle multiple tasks, and work effectively under stress and in a cross-functional team environment that is high paced and adaptive.
