About this Role

As a Visual/UI Designer, you’ll be an integral part of Semsee’s success, working on the product team to optimize the user experience for independent insurance agents. 

We’re looking for someone who has the vision and drive to conceptualize designs, wireframes and mockups and someone who can effectively translate the efficacy of their choices. You’ll also be someone who will be relied upon to help ensure page layouts and user paths are as direct as possible at all times. 

This role will be uniquely positioned to help shape the look and feel of Semsee’s web apps and brand assets as you will also have the opportunity to work with our marketing team to help design marketing deliverables.

As Visual Designer You Will:

  • Create application features that balance defined requirements, user research, and input from multiple stakeholders.
  • Work with the design team to shepherd web-based user interface solutions from conceptualization through to the design and execution phase.
  • Communicate application look-and-feel and behavior with comps, diagrams and annotation that will allow developers to execute on your intent
  • Be a driving force behind growing our brand by cataloging and refining style guides and design libraries to allow for consistent branding and interface experience throughout the application.
  • Collaborate with team members to clarify design intent to ensure flawless execution.
  • Work with the marketing team as needed in the creation of things like email templates and print handbills.

You’re Qualified for this Role if:

  • You have loads of experience with industry-standard tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative and have a special knack for Photoshop, Illustrator, and XD
  • You have a killer portfolio that showcases your eye for detail and visual design skills including a good instinct for composition, color, and typography
  • You’re someone with an inherent understanding of design principles and human-computer interaction trends.
  • You’re able to nurture complex ideas and turn them into comprehensive, elegant, and intuitive designs.
  • You’re highly organized and able to keep track of multiple versions of product solutions to accurately reflect current, short-term and long-term intentions.
  • You have the tenacity to insist on pixel-perfect execution, coupled with the pragmatic grace to let go.  
  • You’re able to collaborate with other designers, free from ego, always prioritizing creation of the strongest possible product.
  • Bonus points for experience building prototypes of microinteractions and/or having a basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Bachelor of Arts in a relevant field.
  • You must be based and authorized to work in the US

  • We offer a competitive salary with the range for this position being $80,000-$120,000 based on experience.
