Senior Digital Designer

What We Are Looking For

We’re looking for a Senior Digital Designer to be the founding member of our design team at Campus (campus.org). Campus helps deliver online two-year degree programs featuring live classes led by faculty from the world's top universities. The main purpose of the role is to execute and produce creative marketing assets, of a high standard, that include but are not limited to the Campus.org website, landing pages, advertising assets, social media content and collateral. The Senior Visual Designer will have the opportunity to expand our existing visual style guide to ensure all Campus design assets are produced to the highest standards. 

While the initial focus of the role will be in helping establish our brand and supporting efforts to attract students, the Senior Visual Designer will also collaborate with the Campus Product and Student Experience teams to develop visual assets that help improve the overall experience for our students. The ideal person for this role will have a strong understanding of visual design, branding, and experience creating digital marketing and advertising assets across a range of mediums. Additionally, this person must cultivate great working relationships with all stakeholders and contribute to the innovation and quality of output of the team.

This is a full time, hybrid role based out of New York City.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conceptual 

  • Conceptualize and answer briefs and brainstorm solutions with the Marketing team.
  • Proactively suggest innovative and functional solutions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand project needs and ensure output of the highest quality.

Communication 

  • Establish relationships with team and stakeholders.
  • Provide feedback and guidance in a clear and respectful way to peers and other departments.
  • Effective, clear and professional communication of concepts, ideas, training and processes internally and externally.
  • Communicate ideas for content/creative needs by developing mockups, storyboards, and prototypes. 

Initiative 

  • Demonstrate proactive thinking within a brief or task e.g. suggesting an alternative design or solution.
  • Drive and implement innovations in collaboration with project teams. 
  • Proactively iterate designs and solutions based on marketing performance data and feedback.

Organization and design management

  • Help develop processes for initiating design requests and managing design projects.
  • Develop a system for organizing all design assets.
  • Source and manage outsourced design resources to support overflow or specialized needs.

Quality

  • Produce creative collateral of an industry-leading standard
  • Ensure our creative assets are on brand, communicate clearly, and delight our users.

BACKGROUND 

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience; at least one year year of relevant design leadership/management experience 
  • An outstanding portfolio with a proven record in visual design 
  • Fanatical attention to detail
  • Evidence of experience within the listed responsibilities.
  • Technical knowledge and computer literacy essential (we have been working in Figma). An understanding of HTML and CSS is useful.
  • Self-directed, can work autonomously

Compensation

  • $80,000-$90,000 (based on experience)
