Marketing Designer

Newton team members are spread out across Canada within a fully-remote capacity.

We're looking for a Marketing Designer whose primary focus is supporting our growth marketing efforts. This translates into making every customer facing opportunity a top-notch branded experience for our customers. You’ll report to the VP of Design and collaborate closely with our marketing team in the creation of both static and animated brand and marketing materials.

We are responsible for company-wide creative output, so there is always a variety of projects and opportunities to challenge yourself and learn new skills!


As a Marketing Designer, you will be responsible for:

  • Applying visual design skills to deliver marketing materials for a variety of media — ranging from illustrations and merchandise to digital ads, email blasts and landing pages on our website
  • Working closely with the Marketing team to create assets that focus on driving new user adoption and engagement
  • Internalizing feedback and real-time insights to produce and optimize assets
  • Managing incoming requests and work with multiple stakeholders to prioritize the workload
  • Playing a vital role in shaping the design work produced by our company and how the world at large perceives us
  • Collaborating with a fast-moving team, in a stimulating and ever-evolving environment that prioritizes autonomy and professionalism over micromanagement


Must haves:

  • Gets excited about looking at the performance of the assets they create and iterating on ideas to make them better
  • Has a strong design POV, grounded in a solid graphic design foundation and is able to be an ambassador for the brand they represent
  • Has relevant experience in video editing, animation and motion design
  • Is up to date with content / social media best practices and has their finger on the pulse of industry trends
  • Has excellent written and oral communications skills for collaborating in a remote environment
  • Has excellent organization skills and attention to detailIs, is reliable, self-motivated and takes the initiative to start work and meet deadlines
  • Can act fast but are willing to iterate and take direction from multiple stakeholder voicesCan manage and prioritize their projects and deadlines independently


Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience working as a visual or digital designer on an in-house or agency creative team
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Design field or equivalent experience
  • Solid understanding of digital design layouts and formats, including common social media specs
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and a strong command of working within Webflow
  • Video editing capabilities
  • Motion graphics (bonus points for prototyping software like Protopie / Principle)
  • Experience with design software like Figma / Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite (bonus points if you are comfortable with AfterEffects)
  • Has experience with designing for and producing branded merchandise across multiple mediums (merchandise, brochures, etc.)
