Senior UX/UI Designer

Teal Media is seeking a fully remote Senior UX/UI Designer for a full-time position (will consider contract as well).

As a collaborative member of our team, you will craft the overall visual experience of web-based projects for high-profile social impact clients tackling big challenges in health, education, climate, and social justice.

Working closely under the direction of the Creative Director and Art Directors, you will produce visually engaging design deliverables to fulfill the creative vision for a project. These design deliverables will include sitemaps, wireframes, full-fidelity visual comps, UI component libraries, custom graphics (static and animated), and more.

Location: Remote, but you must be in the U.S. to be considered.
Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $80K-$95K (pending experience)

What You’ll Do

Serve as the lead designer on web-based projects
Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with project team members and clients
Review creative briefs and project requirements with Art Director to ensure a thorough and complete understanding of assigned projects and tasks
Produce design deliverables (sitemaps, wireframes, full-fidelity visual comps, UI component libraries, custom graphics (static and animated), etc.) as specified by the project
Regularly consult with Art Director on design deliverables to ensure designs meet project requirements before sharing with the
Creative Director and/or Strategist
Conduct quality assurance, testing, and proofing on project deliverables
Produce task/project documentation
Assist with discovery and client/user research on select projects
Prepare and present concepts/work to client
Manage and coordinate tasks and communicate with clients as necessary
Gather and implement feedback
Document design decisions and formulate development specifications
Communicate and collaborate with internal and external project team members
Conduct quality assurance, testing, and proofing on project deliverables
Train/educate clients as needed

Ideal Candidates Will Have

An impressive online portfolio. This will be the most important factor as we evaluate candidates
3-5+ years of experience in UX/UI design
Expert understanding of UX best practices and design principles
Expert-level knowledge of design and business software (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch/Figma, Microsoft Products, Google Apps, etc.)
Strong understanding of the website design and development process, including working knowledge of: HTML/CSS, taxonomies and content types, open source CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal), mobile responsive design, accessibility standards, privacy/security standards
Self-starter, independent thinker, highly responsible
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Thrives working in a fast-paced environment
Strict attention to detail and adherence to project deadlines
