2 Bits

Stumbled upon the Magnavox Odyssey yesterday. The world's first home console was cartridge-based and black and white. Perfect for Mimeo's 2-bit RAM cart.

And just in case Rich doesn't have anything better to do, I thought I'd toss in one of the animated 2-bit bits Mimeo must collect. I never Dribbbled the original version but the orbiting bits made it way too busy once you got a few on screen at once.

Lastly I recorded a new blurry video showing off the previous level populated with bits and grimps.

Oh man. I had the Odyssey2 back in the day which has a unique handle on the top of the cart (Dribbble shot). But it was color, and had Atari 2600-like graphics. And I felt ashamed.

Good call, Shaun. I played with the first Odyssey that landed in Calgary the year it was released (1972) … it blew my nine year old mind. My friends all ended up with Pong or Coleco Telstar ‘consoles’, but I didn’t end up with any sort of video game until 1978, when I bought my Apple ][.
