Vanessa Nguyen

I'm a Vietnamese-American illustrator and designer born + bred + and based in Brooklyn, New York. After completing my BFA Thesis "How Do You Say Your Last Name?" in 2018 @ SUNY Purchase College, I have since then set out to create bodies of work that dissect the dichotomy of being "Asian" and "American". I also address what it means to be "Asian-American" further observing what being first-generation means a creative. In my free time, I like to run around Chinatown comparing the best dumpling deals between shops.
