Jamu Island

Jamu Island is a brand based in Bali, Indonesia providing authentic herbal remedies. Their traditional tonics are jam-packed with healthy immune boosting ingredients that focus on cleansing the body, mind + soul. My role in this project was to create their logo, provide brand copywriting & create a packaging design for their tonic bottles.

The mood board focused on traditional Jamu sellers in Java, turmeric (as it is the main ingredient in their tonics) and dark earthy colours of the various spices used (cloves, cardamom, etc.). The client wanted a clean, minimal (almost medicinal) & monochromatic packaging, as they were determined to portray their tonics as a health supplement. The majority of Jamu products presented in the market have a fairly tropical look, with bright colours and funky lettering: therefore the client wanted a much more understated packaging to differentiate from the rest.
