Common Groove is a new label dedicated to releasing ‘cynical yet celebratory’ dance music. One of the key values of Common Groove is to ensure that each artist retains all the rights to their music.

For their logo and branding, the client was looking to evoke a dreamy, liberatory, disco, mood. They needed a logotype, brand fonts, and brand colorways and textures.

After extensive research, I built a mood board and began the process of sketching out draft logo ideas. In collaboration with the label I continued refining the design until they were delighted.

To accompany the logo I prepared a colour palette, photo treatments, and fonts. Then I put everything together for them in a easy-to-reference brand book, so they can be sure to keep all their communications consistently on-brand.
