January Dribbble Meetup Wrap‑Up

Dribbble Meetups come in all shapes and sizes and happen in every pocket of the globe. We’re blown away by the consistent dedication for Dribbblers to come together, get to know one another, share experiences, and learn. Over 400 designers attended 7 Dribbble Meetups in 5 countries in January.

Join a Dribbble Meetup near you in February in places like Bhubaneswar, Bogotá, Vancouver, Washington, DC, London, and more. Or, perhaps you’re ready to host your own Dribbble Meetup and help grow the community in your area.

Saint Charles, Illinois @ The Keep

  1. The Keep Launch Party & Dribbble Meetup community coworking creative dribbble launch party meetup

“We had creatives of all kinds from the area–designers, photographers, illustrators, animators, writers–excited for an event in Western Chicagoland. People toured our new coworking studio, The Keep, and made connections, further forming our local creative community. Gregory Hyde played acoustic tunes for the evening, while people mingled over appetizers, drinks, and swag.

To help break the ice, we had a social scavenger hunt for people to find others with something in common, play games with strangers, etc. Those who completed the hunt received a Keep coffee mug and a bag of Midnight Realm coffee from CG Cookie. We also dedicated a wall to a collaborative doodle, where a few illustrators contributed their drawings. For those who showed up especially for the Dribbble Meetup, we held a paper airplane distance contest, resulting in a couple Dribbblers winning Keep t-shirts (and–somehow–a plane stuck in the rafters). Finally, a drawing was held in which we gave away a Wacom Intuos tablet to the lucky winner.”

Memphis, Tennessee @ The Emerge Building

“Memphis’ first official Dribbble meetup was a blast! We had 25 attendees, some from as far away from Nashville (shoutout to Zhen!) and many who had never attended a meetup like this before. It was great to connect with new people in the Memphis creative community and introduce more Memphis talent to the magic of Dribbble.

Creative Works Memphis hosted us, Ghost River Brewing provided the beer, and we had some friendly competition with papercraft and homemade Dribbble trophies to hand out to the winners. Thanks to Dribbble and Stocksy for providing stellar swag! I’m excited to continue to grow this group and will definitely plan another meetup soon.”

Poznań, Poland @ Nobel Tower

“This was our first time playing hosts and we didn’t really know what to expect, but I’m happy to report that everyone had a blast, and we already want to do this again!

We’ve had 120 seats and they were all taken, with some more people camping out in the corridor! Speakers included people from the local design scene (Martyna & Roszi from our very own Tonik, Wojtek from Netguru and Jacek) but we’ve also invited over Ales Nesetril, STRV’s Creative Director, who came all the way from Prague to give a mind-blowing talk on designing… an agency.

We gave away some Sketch & FramerJS licenses, a whole bunch of awesome Invision mugs, beer & pizza ensued, people connected, and the party ended late in the night at bar a few blocks away.

Take a peek at the video we made to see what you missed. Oh, we had a livestream as well, and according to Facebook stats, it reached over 20k people!”

São Paulo, Brasil @ Spread Tecnologia

  1. São Paulo Dribbble Meetup #001/2018 design dribbble meetup ornito spread

“The meetup was a lot of fun and really great, it happened in the space of the new startup accelerator from Ornito/Spread Tecnologia, called Genova. Our team of designers talked about an internal project called Design Manifesto that we are putting together for the community based on doing good work. We had almost 30 designers present of all different kinds and from different places. We finished with beer, pizza and networking.”

Mobile, Alabama @ Chaleur Coffee

“The meet up was amazing. We had a great turn out, about 30 people. More than we expected! It was so nice to meet other designers in the area, share ideas, and get feedback on projects. I was able to talk about Dribbble and what an amazing platform it is for building creative community! We are so thankful to have hosted this event and can’t wait to do it again in the years to come. Thank you to everyone involved!”
