Almost 400 designers attended Dribbble Meetups in October—with 7 meetups in 5 countries. A few meetup attendees got into the Halloween spirit and showed up in costume. And as usual there was no shortage of creativity this month in the way of Playoffs, demos, and workshops.
Iasi, Romania @ Teatru FIX
“On the 7th of October we gathered 65 creatives from the Eastern region of Romania for the very 1st Dribbble Iasi Meetup. During the event, twelve artists presented their works. We went with ‘Iasi’ as the theme for the creations.
Each of them presented their artistic perspective and received questions from the audience. After the presentation we had an informal networking component where participants enjoyed snacks and drinks while talking about future projects and collaboration.
Days after the event we made a digital gallery with all the works in order to share them with those who couldn’t attend. It was hard to capture the awesome vibe of the event, but we gave it a try in the video below.”
Tallahassee, FL @ CoLab at the Pod
“We had about 20 people come out, and it was a great time. Our Dribbble Meetup fell right in the middle of our first ever Design Week Tallahassee, and we had a ton of fun with all the awesome swag and new friends we’d made that week. We even played a game of Simon Says to give out some extra swaggy bags!”
San Antonio, TX @ CSS Dev Conference
“CSS Dev Conf 2016 held its closing reception and Dribbbble Meetup at The Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. Under cooling weather, over a hundred fifty combined conference attendees and local Dribbblers were able to network inside the walls of the The Alamo fort. As the night wore on, historical re-enactors wrapped up the event by demonstrating rifles that would have been used at The Alamo battle!
Thanks to Dribbble, CSS Dev Conf is able to produces great meetups in unique spots every year—Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, aboard the Queen Mary in LA, and this year—on the grounds of The Alamo!
Singapore @ Spacemob
“We had 40+ lovely people join us to hear about creating UI design systems and what our Cooper Workshops like. It’s been more than a year since we have done a Dribbble Meetup and have missed all of you! Minitheory revived the meetup on 19th October at a brand new and awesome co-working space in Orchard called Spacemob.
We had a really good time with 40+ lovely people who got together to hear about creating UI design systems and what is it like being at cooper workshops. We had great giveaways and conversations. The next meetup is right up in December!”
Birmingham, AL @ ProctorU
“Birmingham Alabama’s first ever Dribbble Meetup was an absolute blast with people from local creative agencies to individuals showed up for a night of local brew, pizza and a demo of Sketch and how to animate in After Effects. Everyone got to go home with a bag full of goodies as well as some lucky people got licenses to Sketch and awesome plugins to After Effects.
We here at Birmingham are truly grateful for Dribbble providing us great swag and an opportunity to meet each other in person and have a chance to network, here’s to Meetups in the future!”
Chicago, IL @ Devbridge HQ
“A fun time was had by all who attended Devbridge Group’s Dribbble Monster Mash Meetup on October 19. Nearly 80 Chicagoland designers came out to network, share, and have some fun. We learned about how rapid prototyping is not only used for space travel but also for building digital products. Shout out to our sponsors, InVision, Stocksy, Sticker Mule and, of course, Dribbble! Thanks to all who dressed up! We hope you enjoy your DB swag!”
Istanbul, Turkey @ TAK
“The Istanbul Dribbble Meetup was great! There were about 70 attendees—they loved the decorations and sponsors. We also had two speakers, Volkan Ölmez and Burç Pulathaneli. We can’t wait for the next meet up in 2017.”
