MISSION: TedTodd Insurance
Refresh an online insurance quote tool in a way that strips away negative connotations associated with the insurance industry. Make the experience current and interactive.

UI designer Alex and the team at Savannah-based agency Focus Lab have been working with TedTodd for more than two years. “The great thing about TedTodd Insurance is their dedication to providing their customers the best possible experience,” Alex says. “Unlike other insurance companies, that mindset translates all the way to their online experience.”
CHALLENGE: Insurance = Old School.
The insurance industry has existed for centuries, and it shows, says Alex. “It was important to differentiate TedTodd Insurance as a fresh and modern approach to insurance. We utilized a light color palette with ample amounts of white space to nail the look and feel we wanted.”
CHALLENGE: Insurance = Negative.
While TedTodd is a positive, customer-focused business, people often perceive insurance companies in a negative light. Alex countered these perceptions with a clean and current design. To entice potential customers to progress through the entire quoting experience, the Focus Lab team incorporated animation.
“Our goal for the overall refresh was to make customers feel welcome. Whether people wanted to find out what TedTodd Insurance was all about or to sign up for insurance, we wanted to offer a beautiful and painless way to give them the information they were after.”
