Dancer on Fire - Photoshop

This project was for an image manipulation course I took when I was an art student. We needed to find a stock photograph of a person and to use either water, sand or fire to create a 'dissolve' effect from the subject's limbs.

This shows the original photograph and my finished artwork side-by-side. Photoshop was used for this project and used various char, smoke and fire brushes to add the effects.

Full disclosure - At the time I was working on this I had intended on really detailing the face and hair to make it look extremely 'evil' in a way, making the hair into flames and including fire-spitting eyes and nose. But the project was due, I was running out of time and to save myself the trouble I slapped on a huge fireball over the entire head because I didn't get to complete the head the way I wanted to.

"So why didn't you go back and finish it?" you ask. 🙂 Well, now that I have a little time to spare, I think that's a great idea. I'll update it here eventually and hopefully it'll look as wicked as I originally intended it to.
