Shot from my Class Trailer "Create Eye-Catching Title Sequences"

I'm Excited to share a bit of the behind the scenes of how I work. With this class I will be leading students, step-by-step, through the process of creating an animated title sequence. We will cover everything from story boarding, illustration, typography, to final animation and output.

This class will take place over three weeks from April 22nd - May 10th with each week focusing on a part of the process. The class resources will include written and video lectures, live office hours, and personalized feedback from me as well as fellow students. Visit the link below for more details about the class and how to enroll.

Ever wanted to add great animated titles to your film projects? Whether you are making a short film or just some home movies, motion graphics and simple animations can help bring your quality of work to the next level.

This class is for anyone who wants to create, engage, and have fun with the art of "The Animated Title Sequence."
In just three short weeks we will be going over:

-Story boarding
-Making an animatic for a clients review
-Creating assets in illustrator/photoshop
-The basics of After Effects
-Text in After Effects
-Creating an Animated Title Sequence

This Class is Project-Based.
We'll be creating a title sequence for any film that you like. Everyone will pick a film that is either their own or that is already on the big screen. The point is to pick something that you feel passionately about and know you will have fun creating. Once you have your film in mind, we will create story boards that represent a rough look at what the sequence will look like. This is usually what clients will want to see before giving you the full go ahead. From there, we will start creating any assets in Illustrator or Photoshop. These are the parts that you will then take into After Effects and begin animating. Since this is a heavily text-based project, we will be going over some ways to make your text pop! Lastly, you will come out of this class with a finished title sequence that is about 30 seconds (or more).

You have the option to create your assets digitally or analog - both work! This class will also teach you the techniques for transitioning your work from an analog medium to digital if you're interested in doing so.

Recommended Software:
-Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop
-Adobe After Effects
-Adobe Premier
