Billards Toulet - Mobile Home Page Animation
Since when I started to collaborate with Gessato, back in 2017 – here's the re-design of Gessato website on Behance – I developed a love for unique items and products, which led me to discover not-so-hidden gems, such as Billards Toulet.
Billards Toulet is a french manufacturer, founded in 1857, whose purpose is to ideate, design, and build billiard tables. They offer a wide range of options, spacing from classical and antique to contemporary and for competitions.
This mobile home page design focuses on enhancing the visual aspects of the current Billards Toulet website, highlighting its most valuable brand elements: its colors, its typography, and its name. A brand with a history of more than 150 years cannot be hidden or left in a corner. That is one of the reasons why the website loads a screaming Billards Toulet text in the center of the screen, which then gets slightly covered by the other elements of the page. Yet, the name remains partially legible.
Also, the typography utilized in this mobile home page design presents differences. I decided to bring back a serif font which characterizes the Billards Toulet logo. It shows elegance and a deep connection with the company's roots as opposed to the current mobile home page design, which features a trendy sans serif font that unfortunately doesn't convey the company's goals and brand in the best way possible.
Lastly, I've worked with colors to build contrasts and divide spaces. I've played with brown and beige tonalities, which are part of the original brand, and then I've introduced a new blue tonality for CTAs, which presents particular graphic lines. Each one of the buttons has a vertical and horizontal line on the left and bottom sides, which is a characteristic taken from the Billards Toulet's font logo.
