Daily UI #021 | Home Monitoring Dashboard

A lot of houses in the Netherlands don’t make it any easier to track your energy consumption. In fact, a lot of houses here were purposefully built to waste energy to generate more income for the electricity providers. Also, houses with solar panels don’t make it any easier to track the generated amount of energy either. In order to check the generated amount of energy, the resident has to climb two storeys to check a display that only shows a live statistic without the ability to look into the past few hours or days. This process is a pain.

To solve this, I designed a home monitoring dashboard that makes it easier to track the energy consumption of a household. Now the residents can see all the energy related information without having to climb up and down the house. On top of that, the user can directly manage the temperature of the house, as well as the lights to have more control over the used energy. There’s potential for many more options here since the dashboard elements are customisable.

Let me know what you think! I would appreciate all your feedback.
