Stool

I like not being set as a designer in what fields I can and cannot work in. That is why I felt compelled to design a stool when the right idea showed up. It came as an idea when I learned how to use a laser cutter. It was amazing because it made me able to use more digital tools, tools that I feel comfortable in. So I challenged myself in a new design field and built my first furniture, a stool. Challenging myself as a designer.

My goal with the project was that I wanted to create a stool that could both work as a sitting furniture and side table. So I came up with an idea that I tried out and developed through working with sketching and manufacturing small models. After that, I was happy with the design I created the design in illustrator and proceeded to laser cut it at Stockholm makerspace. I used three sheets of 6mm plywood and glued them all together, creating parts with a thickness of 18mm. This was my first try to make some sort of furniture.
