Just a question, why not place the buttons on the left and right? (instead of both to the right?). Just a usability aspect.

Yeah it is a matter of usability and experience... Also a personal preference for me.
The theory behind it is that on small mobile devices our thumbs move like window wipers. If we're holding the phone in one hand, this means the bottom left and top right of the screen are the most natural places for your thumb to move to when navigating or taking an action.
Hope that makes sense.
