@SojoCreative Even though this is for a real project, I like to make time for personal stuff or else I go crazy!

Looks fantastic. These markers in your recent works seem to be made for you exclusively :)

What is your process for moving this from paper to computer? I always struggle with losing integrity of lines.

  22. Ryan Putnam Ryan Putnam

@Robyn Britt I really depends. Most of the time when I move to computer, I intentionally loose the line quality. I'm usually drawing clean vector lines.

For example, here is a sketch:

    And the finished vector:

If I am trying to keep the line quality and general ascetic of the sketch. I usually just scan, play with levels, and pretty much use as is.

However, I have recreated this sketch style of work through vector with a number of Art Brushes, Styles, and Live tracing techniques. Below is a project with all the shots using this style.

Thanks so much @Ryan Putnam for taking the time to provide your insights and processes. Much appreciated. Your work is so original and an inspiration. I feel like I am still trying to develop my original style, which means I need to do a lot more experimentation and risk taking, especially with my sketches and different mediums to use.
