    Imagine there was a Photoshop plugin that allowed you to create your own graphic collections of pretty much anything made from pixels. I'm not talking single bitmap layers here I'm talking complex multi layer elements that are still fully editable.

    A kind of PEZ dispenser for graphic designers but instead of sweets you could dispence graphic elements such as buttons, sliders even icons.

    Imagine you create these collections directly in PS by simply dragging and dropping the desired elements into the empty slots.

    Wouldn't it be awesome if you could also export and share these refills with your design buddies and work colleagues.

    Well if you like the sound of a PEZ dispenser for graphic designers I'll be releasing something very soon you might find interesting :)

    Isn't this called a "symbol"?

    @Ryan Devenish what do you mean?

    @Norm Illustrator and Fireworks both have a symbol palette (fully editable, layered files, that can be reused and referenced again and again and are able to be shared across files). And they all live in a palette from/to which you can drag and drop.

    Fireworks even takes it to the next level by tying in javascript functionality so you can make more dynamic symbols with variables and such.

    Yes! It will be great if we can use it. It like symbols in Illustrator :) And its would be great if every object will be Smart Object so that we can update once and its update in all document :)

    @Ryan Devenish im not familiar with it as i use ps for most things. Can you place photos in the symbols palette? or pre formatted text copy, folders, smart objects? This plugin lets you place anything from ps in the refills storage.

    Looks interesting. I'm curious as to what the file size would be for one of those palette files. Are you planning to limit the number of stuff added to a file? Are you using the proprietary photoshop format (.psd) for importing and exporting from the palette/program?

    This would be great if we could create multi-collections. Think UI kits. :)

    @Ryan Devenish I think Norm is intending for this to be a richer experience than the Symbols palette is in Illustrator. Essentially, Mini Bridge does this but just not very well because it requires Bridge to be running in the background (and who wants that?) ;)

  24. Norm Norm

    @Jeff Broderick that's possible.

    @Ryan Brock you have two slots A & B both hold 30 elements and you can obviously export and reload pre made refills.

    @Ryan Brock yeah that's kinda the idea.
