Sorta Cliché Toolbox

After the success of the flat style with my client's holiday work, I figured I should commit to expressing it in my portfolio. This illustration will end up on the "about" page of my site (instead of my ugly mug, haha). I know it's a bit cliche to do this whole "illustration of my tools" thing, but it conveys information and it's in a style that some clients have found appealing, so why not?

As for the tools illustrated so far:
The mighty Macbook Pro, for designing all things digitally.
    - and my 2 most useful objects away from the studio -
A Field Notes notebook for sketching & writing stuff.
My iPhone (specifically with the Clear app).

I like it, love the details like having Clear on the phone and the charger cable, good style!

Thanks, I'm really liking this style and the challenge of being direct as possible visually while still adding some character/details.

  4. Finally cleared enough time to finish this tool illustration for my site. I figured it says a bit more than just putting a picture of my face. To see the full thing, you can check it out on my about page:
