After several of hours of sketching, thinking, and finally painting, I can finally show this up, still WIP.
When the iPhone 5 came up, the audio player was broken. Every pixel was perfectly tailored for it, and trying to make it fit on the 5 was… well, complicated. On other side, several new features came along on services like Spotify or Rdio, making our music players more social and fun. Something isn't quite right, so I tried my best.
I tried to do something different not for the sake of being different, but to try to fix this half broken stuff. Regular controls are a bit dated, so I tried something using the covers in a different way, providing visual cues to interact with them. I'm sure you'll have questions or things you don't like. Just shoot :)
Highly recommended to view it on an actual device. I hope you like it!

Nice work Alberto, really good :-)
I like it. Especially the blurred artwork on the back.
I have a question: why is there an 'x' in the upper left corner? Isn't a classic 'back' button better suited? How do I get to this screen?
I really like it, but it's hard to judge from just seeing this one screen…
What's the star for? Favorite songs[albums]?
How would you skip a song? From what I see you could only skip albums, unless you went to list view and selected another song manually…
Still pretty cool, very interesting! :D
Love that slider control!
This is great!
Care to share were you found the last 5 icons?
Just for fun -

@Alessandro Vendruscolo you're probably right. I'll need to so some more tests :)
@Manolo Sañudo I need to prepare a full interaction prototype so you can see how it works. It's better to write a huge explanation :)
@Tanveer Junayed @Tji Sousa thanks, guys!
@ecq Pictos! Nice job on the rebound, BTW.
Thanks again to everybody! What a wonderful time I'm having with this! :)
This is how iOS7 could have been done in an elegant way. You were way ahead of the curve Alberto.
Wow. Coincidently you just tweeted about this. Was scrolling through my UI Art bucket and saw it at the same time,
