This is a restoration of one of my favorite examples of Victorian Gaslight lithography. I think it also strikes a chord because it's from my home state. The restoration process includes sizing up the imagery cleaning up type and line work and balancing color and texture to maintain a vintage look.
The result is a much larger poster, now 14 inches in height, which is more suitable for hanging up in my studio. Respect to Clay & Richmond Printers as they were on their game at the turn of the century.
I'm not taking credit for creation of the work, simply bringing it back to life in our time. Detailed view in attachment.
