I need your help, guys and gals. I've been staring at this mark for way too long... and I need your input. What do you see in this mark? What's obvious that you notice? What's subtle? What emotion does it portray? Etc. I've got a few things I'm going for so I'd like to see if any/all are noticeable.

Thanks in advance for your help, dribbblers!

PS: Also, if it's been done before, HOLLER. I've searched high and low and can't find anything similar, but that doesn't mean it isn't out there. Thanks!

A book? Well it does look like it to me, it is a pretty solid mark.

First reaction: a heart. Second reaction: a fox/wolf. I assume from the library background photo, at least one of these is wrong...

the letter "V" & a pocket sleeve, like from a shirt or trousers.

It reminds me of an army badge or merit. Also like @Daniel Keller said, a pocket sleeve.

It also reminds me of an open book with the binding facing toward the viewer.

It's a clean and simple mark that could lend itself to some dimensional play with the use of color. Excited to see how this pans out.

At first glance I thought air force or some sort of army. I also feel "sly" it does sorta look like a fox or wolf. I also see the book as well but that is also probably because of the picture behind it.

whatever it is i like it haha

At first sight it seems like a military badge mixed with a ball of yarn! It looks awesome!

Would make a badass minimal fox logo of some sort. The idea of a bookstore or library cataloging wouldn't pop out if not for the background. Maybe if you wanted it more booky you could retain the badge shape at the bottom but bring the top lines more horizontal and then change colors so they look like they're lined up or stacked? Either way...I like it.

@Daniel Garcia @Mathew Sanders @Cory Angen @Daniel Keller @Steve Kodis @Ben Johnson @mononelo @Sean Glass Thanks for all of the comments! You guys saw a bunch of unintended things, but I like that ;) Was going for an ultra-minimalist book, with references to a heart, crop fields and/or an official/military/badge feel. Will keep refining, but thanks for your input and compliments :)

The book reference might be more recognizable if the line breaks were vertical instead of angled.

This might be a little abstract but it actually reminds me of a symbol for wool or yarn.

I don't know what this looks like exactly, but I LOVE it!
It seems abstract to me. It could mean a lot of things. It feels industrial, but has some levity. Fabulous.

    This is HOT.

    First Impression: Wings or Ears
Double Take: Book stacks, after seeing the background.
