Working on a wordmark for Gather. UPDATED
over 1 year ago
top serif of the 'G' could be beefed up a bit, but other than that this looks great.
looks great Sean, agree with Colin, maybe even make the whole letter G just a tad bigger to help balance since there is a lot of visual weight in the th. love that h!
Love this type. Check that e-r kerning.
Agree with Colin and Joshua.
The G could be a bit wider and the r a bit closer in.
It'd be cool if the slants on the t and h lined up to make a point. Just a thought though. I really like the flow of the letters!!
I love what you did with the type. I love the 'h'. Not so much digging the 'G' yet, it looks a bit boring. When I saw this on Twitter I thought the same as @Gwen Brinsmead about lining up the 't' and 'h'. Here is what it looks like: http://sht.tl/ihc. I think it could work, but perhaps it is distracting?
Nice work! What typeface is that?
Or maybe you could lower that 'h' bar to the baseline with 't'? cc: @Jord Riekwel
Agree with others on the 'G' comments - in general making it thicker and more appealing. I also think (unless it's my eyes) that the 'G' could do with coming in a bit - closer to the 'a'??...
...oh and I've just seen @Jord Riekwel's take on lining up the 't' and 'h' - that looks super-smooth indeed and really brings it together I think.
Thanks everyone for the comments. Here's an updated look!
Made the G tad bigger on the right side. Loved the ide of lining up the 't' and 'h' - thanks @Gwen Brinsmead and @Jord Riekwel. Also, revised the 'r.'
The updated one is perfect! Great work!
Really love the t h ramp.
That update is fantastic.
Great, love the h.
Update looks great Sean.
like? nah — love this.
You should rebound the new version. :)
@Sean Farrell not sure if I'd make that t & h line up... I agree with @Gwen Brinsmead in that they should follow the same angle, but I don't think i'd shorten the T so much just to get them to line up... just my two cents.
in that update, i'm starting to see a rooftop of a home in the t and h, in which the gathering might occur. i know it's a word mark, but i may have to go make a few sketches. awesome work, and good contributions everyone.
This is really strong Sean. One of my favorites from you.
nice update, sean.
