Here's my little contribution to the quite popular (literally legendary) Twitter Widget playoff. Apart from the bright and minimal style of this in general, I devoted my main attention to two fairly small details:
Since displaying notifications is only necessary when there are actually such available, I decided to make their appearance dynamic by using that page curl in the top right-hand corner. The small digit behind it indicates the number of unread notifications; if there are none, the paper will simply uncurl.
Also, I tried giving that somewhat skeuomorphistic "stack of paper" metaphor a touch of interactiveness, so when hovering the widget, the sheet underneath actually slides downwards and reveals a compose field.
Be sure to check out the non-dithered PNG version, since using a GIF image really takes its toll. Also, feel free to grab the PSD!
