    @Ari Thanks for the feedback. Some replies:

    1. People's thumbs are huge in comparison to most UI elements, so I agree, they would be covered in use. Most people tap switches, so they just need something big to target and the current state needs to be clear. I don't think placing the tick on the handle changes usability much at all. Please note that I wasn't suggesting Apple change their switches OS wide — we're considering using these switches in our own apps and I thought others might like the concept.

    2. The intention was to keep the switch an identical size to the iOS UISwitch widget. I've just checked and mine's the same height, but actually 2pt shorter. I don't think the concept needs to change, even if you wanted a shorter width. I'd say Apple chose their width to increase horizontal tap size.

    3. Fair point, although on the device the tick feels about right. I didn't want to make it too small. Again, making it smaller would work and not break the concept, if that's what you'd prefer.

    This is just a concept. Feel free to fork it with your own ideas.

    @Marc Edwards ✎ Bjango Gee Marc, I am pretty sure it'd take way less time to do it this Flash or (even better) using pure HTML/CSS than dealing with all this AI/PS mess :)

    @George Papadakis Possibly! We're all fastest with what we're comfortable using. It might sound like a hard way to do things, but the animation was laid out flat, as a sprite sheet. It made things pretty easy.
