    Puerto Rico voted yesterday that it wants to become USA's 51st state, which means we're gonna need to update the old Stars and Stripes. Problem is 51 is a weird number of stars to work with.

    got any better ideas? i've attached the Fireworks PNG to get you started.

  2. So many stars, so little time to count them all.

  3. Went a little minimal on this guy :) Great playoff idea Jim!
    First time I've done the playoff, so hopefully I was supposed to rebound your shot.

  5. Its a dog eat dog world of metrics - Its time to get rid of the stars and let Helvetica do the heavy-lifting.

  6. My first playoff participation.

    Didn't spend too much time on this design wise.
    I figured a circle based design with the stars could bring a bit of nostalgia for the early American flags.

  7. Sorry, I just couldn't resist one more cheap shot. At least after the US adopts this format we would never have to change this design unless the technology just dies out. I know it would probably have to be designed to work, but I just did this version visually, there can also be a version where stars would set off the code as well.

  8. A 51 star version of my favorite american flag, the Bennington Flag.

    All spacing/angles were more or less ball parked. A final concept would need some more work.

  10. My take on the playoff. I've done the star to the power of 51. Some mathematical thought to it and it has the feeling that the country is stronger through unity.

    To the power of 51.

    This should be the flag.

    F := sup{n∈ℕ : n ≤ 51}

  13. I'm sure Texas won't mind sharing their flag with the rest of the country.

  14. Inspired by Linevoy's use of the QR tag, this one uses a Microsoft Tag. It is actually scannable as is, and links back to this page...which has the tag, which links to this page. *INCEPTION*
