Gave up on this direction because of legibility issues… Started by using a free font and then converted the characters to paths and manually added the underlines. Still like the idea… too bad it's kind of hard to read! :\
Done in Fireworks but I'm not working on the next version in Illustrator. Fireworks really has been forsaken by Adobe… :(
