Etched Alive

This etching is 7.75″ x 9.5″ full size. It was created using drypoint and aquatint and was inspired by the beautiful sugar skulls and skull face paintings of Dia De Los Muertos. I love the idea that death leads to rebirth (or failure to success, pain to opportunity, etc.) and wanted to take a modern approach to this concept while exploring self-portraiture.
