Season 2 of the Overtime podcast is here! Listen to the first episode with Meg Robichaud now.
This was the blocking prior to breaking out Painter's detailing brushes. The blocking phase is very rough but gives me a roadmap to fix issues as I detail. I've got my darks and lights where I want them at this point.
Some illustrators will continue with the blocking, constantly downsizing brushes until the piece is detailed. I guess from my years in working with graphite, I don't like that process. I'll get my composition, shape, shading, lights, and darks where I want it, then start detailing. Sometimes I'll save the hair for last, sometimes I'll tackle that first. There's no right way IMO.
Will post detailing shots over the next few days.
