Although this looks nice, all I see is a slight re-skin of the youtube app. How are you improving the experience? What interactions are better or easier?
@Henry Modisett We've designed this side menu bar few months ago. Before the official youtube app.
@Jackie Tran ahh okay :) is this something you are still developing?
Looks great, two minor mistakes: Recommended and Tranding, but I guess the latter is just an intended pun.
The UI looks better than Google's imho.
How does the fly-out menu work in conjunction with the tab bar? It looks like the "Home" tab appears in both places?
Other than that, this is looking great, better than the official one to me.
somehow it seems that there is an issue with the top border of the selected item... and maybe it would look cool to make the font and icon of the selected item "youtube redish". The "category separator" looks tap-able, but I guess it isn't. Can i haz real pixels for my two cents? :D
Looks really nice. The design of the official app sucks :) . Looking forward to use your app.
Never been a fan of the slide in menu, ever. That aside.. I don't get the choices behind the UI layout. The slide in menu from what i can see does almost the same as the tab bar, so why have both?
There is a Home option in both.
I presume Browse and Discover options cover pretty much the same area's (if they do and you're going to keep both then at least name them the same?).
I can't see the rest of the tab bar but i assume account and settings on there too if it is the way it looks to me. (i know i can't see a settings but its gotta be there, right :P)
I don't think there needs to be a user icon next to 'sign in'.
The Recommended icon doesn't fit in with the rest imo, they have kinda chunky lines and the tail on that is quite skinny.
Amazing work! And there's a typo. The spelling of the "Trending" (the last item).
Not sure about nav pane + tab bar. Better to remove the tab bar no? I'm curious to know more.
Oh and in the nav pane, you should make the "Sign in" button at 44pt/88px like the nav bar in the main view.
keyboard shortcuts: ← previous shot → next shot L or F like
