This is a signup page we designed for a developer portal. The sign up process that the portal earlier had included a long form and special invitation to the developers from the managers which needed email verification.
The initial efforts were made find out how many of these fields (in the form) were actually needed. We worked in an agile framework and hence could iterate quickly and implement. We started by cleaning up the form and smartly categorising the entry fields ( following Nelson-Norman standards). We simultaneously also thought of a solution which included a step wise sign up process.
When we tested these design, the usability of the later was higher and users pointed out how easy and intuitive the process was. The screenshot here is an output of multiple visual iterations of this step wise signup process.
If you want to know more about how we arrived at this design and the iterations we went through make sure you drop me a note. We can take it up from there. :)
