Ecosystem: Textile and editorial design

In collaboration with the School of Design of INBA and American Textil, I designed, together with my team, a set of 30 fabrics for interiors of compact cars in the low-medium sector for the 2019-2021 season.

My two colleagues and I designed 10 fabrics each, for the same set based on our identification (coolhunting) of trends predicted for 2019-21 within the automotive textile industry. We did a market research to know the proposals of the competition and the position of our client in the market in the last five years.

It was proposed to create a collection of printed fabrics for the use of the Volkswagen car assembler, focused on parents of family (men and women of generation X, socio-economic level type C +) with futuristic design using organic forms in search of promoting in the user the concept of ecology and sustainability, to give the user greater appropriation of the space allowing having a most pleasant experience. We also generate fabrics with sustainable fibers and a color palette defined in a gray scale as a base applying neon accents in cold colors.

In the configuration stage, we obtained the reticles, colors and elements to be used in the rapports from the identified trend. We designed the 30 fabrics with their respective production sheets indicating their use in case of being stamped or woven (this was left by company decision), percale, cylinder roll, module size and number of inks.

For its delivery and presentation we made a display portfolio to show the 30 fabrics, as well as a CD with the rapports made and a book of samples with the name, technical sheet and colors used by rapport.
