David Foster Wallace Conference logos

David Foster Wallace is one of my favorite writers. In 2011 I finished his novel "Infinite Jest" for the first time and it inspired me to create a whole body of artwork based on the book. You can find that at pooryorickentertainment.tumblr.com

In 2014 I noticed that the Inaugural David Foster Wallace Conference was set to take place at Illinois State University. Like most academic conferences, they didn't really have a budget for a logo, which was evident by the graphics they were using to promote it. I volunteered my design services and it has turned into a great ongoing relationship. I provided the logo for the 2014-2017 conferences, each time challenging myself to illustrate a different aspect of his work. I have managed to maintain a circular theme in each year's logo, something that would be familiar to anyone who had read Infinite Jest.

The International David Foster Wallace Society formed in 2017 and I was invited to create the logo for the society as well as their publication - the Journal of David Foster Wallace Studies.
