Cinema4D Experiment: Meditation Platform

Hey guys!

I keep learning Cinema4D - and I absolutely love it - so I decided to integrate one of the visuals I’ve created in this app lately into a design experiment I came up with here at Zajno. What you see above is a mediation platform, a service that allows sharing meditational videos and follow people who teach how to meditate.

Why meditation? Well, first, it’s cool and you should definitely try it. Second, I looked at the visual and it reminded me of the designs we created for Maslo AI, an empathetic digital companion that increases mindfulness. So my thoughts turned to meditation and I remembered about the Headspace meditation app, and I reckoned it would be cool if they also had a video sharing platform like this.

The idea was to make it look calm, relaxing and soothing, hence the choice of colors and a simple layout. On the left, you can choose a meditation coach, view general info and mediation templates. On the right, you can see one of the lessons in Meditation 101: The Basics course and the button to play the video.

To create the visual in Cinema4D I used a usual plain, then I added a displacer with the noise shader and the taper & twist deformers. I’ve learned how to do it on C4D42 platform, a cool collaborative course to help you master Cinema 4D. Useful tip: if you want to create peaks with the Random Effector, remember that you won't be able to create a loop for animation afterwards.

How do you like the visual and the overall design? Do you use Cinema 4D? Share your feedback!
