Frances McDormand is bad ass, plain and simple. She has been knocking out great character performances since the mid-eighties. In 1996, she got her first Academy Award for playing Marge Gunderson in Fargo. She has been nominated for an Academy Award 5 times since 1988 and won twice. Both times for Best Actress. Outside of that she has won FIFTY TWO other awards and been nominated for three times that. She is one of the 12 women in history that has achieved the Triple Crown of Acting (an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Tony). She has literally been in the zone for three decades...even stopping and bringing a little bit of class to Transformers along the way.
