Simple Podcast Player Design

I’m a huge podcast fan and love throwing on an educational/inspiring episode while I’m driving, walking my dog, cooking, cleaning, etc.

All the podcasts apps I’ve used in the past have felt a bit cluttered, difficult to use, and I often found myself leaving the app before I even chose a podcast to start. To solve this, I decided to design my own version.

After thinking a bit about why I react this way to certain apps, I remembered a study I read that said people are more likely to use a product or service if it looks and feels appealing. And I thought that might be why I’m don’t particularly like any of the podcast apps I’ve tried.

My goal for this design was to create an elegant and clean experience that makes you excited to start listening to an episode every time you open the app.
