UX concept where after submitting a search query the input field animates to hide the search button and the "clear" button appears. Clicking clear would animate the search icon back into place to perform a new search.
Would love to hear your thoughts? Let me know what you think here or on twitter.
Update: To give more context, the user doesn't have to clear their search to perform another search. They could also select the text, type a new query, and hit enter - this is similar to other searches online in which require the user to type and hit enter. The benefit is that the user doesn't get confused between the "clear" and performing the same query again. If a user begins typing in a new query, the clear option would disappear and possibly the search button would reappear (not sure - thinking out loud).
